Brown University’s Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies seeks applications for the position of Visiting Professor of Portuguese Literature (open rank). The successful candidate will teach one course during one semester (fall or spring) of the 2023-24 academic year, with ample opportunity to conduct research.


Candidates should have their Ph.D. in hand by the time of the appointment, documented experience teaching courses in Portuguese literary and cultural studies, and a record of academic publications in one or more of these areas. Native or near-native native fluency in Portuguese and English is required.
