Description
Brown University’s Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies seeks applications for the position of Visiting Professor of Portuguese Literature (open rank). The successful candidate will teach one course during one semester (fall or spring) of the 2023-24 academic year, with ample opportunity to conduct research.
Qualifications
Candidates should have their Ph.D. in hand by the time of the appointment, documented experience teaching courses in Portuguese literary and cultural studies, and a record of academic publications in one or more of these areas. Native or near-native native fluency in Portuguese and English is required. The Department of Portuguese and Brazilian Studies is interested in qualified candidates who have demonstrated commitment to excellence by providing leadership in teaching, research or service toward building an equitable and diverse scholarly environment.Specific questions should be addressed to the chair of the search committee at onesimo_almeida@brown.edu.
